TAMBURA (BAWRA TYPE)
A tambura is a long-necked Indian lute, unfretted and round-bodied. This is the favorite form of tanpura for Hindustani performers. It has 4 strings with a well-rounded resonator plate (tabali) and a long, hollow straight neck (dandh). The round lower chamber to which the tabli and the neck are fixed is actually a selected and dried gourd (tumba). SIZE: 12

SITAR (KHUSRO TYPE)
The sitar is probably the best-known Indian instrument in the West. It became popular in the West when “The Beatles” used it in many songs, including "Norwegian Wood" and "Within You Without You". Beatles guitarist, George Harrison, was inspired by, and later taught by, world-famous sitar player Ravi Shankar. BANJO (BULBUL)
Banjo, also known as the Bulbul Tarang (waves of nightingales), is a common instrument in India. It is made of a 7 to 9 stainless steel strings passing over what resembles a finger board. However, instead of directly fingering the keys, they are pressed with a series of keys like a piano. The instrument is common for folk musicians and children because of its very low price.

SARANGI
It is the most important bowed string instrument of India's classic music tradition. It is said to get closest to the sound of the human voice able to imitate vocal ornaments. Carved from a single block of wood, the sarangi has a box-like shape, usually around two feet long and around 6 inches wide. The lower resonance chamber is hollowed out and covered with parchment and a decorated strip of leather at the waist which supports the elephant-shaped bridge. This instrument has 3 gut playing strings, 1 bronze rhythm string, 11 sympathetic strings placed on two flat bridges and 24 tuning keys. It is played with a bow.

DILRUBA
This instrument is a combination of sitar and sarangi. It has a neck similar to sitar, but smaller, with sitar frets and sympathetic strings. The bridge is seated on a skin stretched over the body of the instrument. It has three iron or bronze playing strings and 11 sympathetic strings. The playing strings are played with a violin bow or a sarangi bow.

AFGHANI RUBAB
The rubab is a plucked string instrument from Iran, Afghanistan and Pakistan. It is considered Afghanistan's National instrument, and is particularly favored by the Pashtun ethnic group. It is used in ensembles as well as to play instrumental solos. A short-necked lute made of wood, with goatskin covering the body. It has three melody strings, three drone strings and 11 sympathetic strings. The instrument is made from the stem of the mulberry tree and the strings are made from the intestines of young goats, brought to the size of thread.
